Mike is responsible for creating, monitoring, and evolving HPA’s investment solutions. Dedicated to an evidence-based approach, Mike and the Team produce rigorous quantitative and qualitative analysis, which in combination with external academic research, is used to support every decision across asset allocation, asset selection, portfolio construction and risk management. Behavioral finance, tax efficiency, cost and trade optimization are embedded at every step in the process. Mike is a member of the Investment Committee and Management Committee at HPA, he lends a unique perspective that combines expertise in factor-based investing, institutional portfolio management and alternative investments with significant experience delivering research platforms to financial consultants, sophisticated individuals, and institutional investors.

He brings decades of diverse exposure within the financial industry to High Probability Advisors. Most recently, Mike was Vice President & Client Consultant at Genesee Valley Trust where his responsibilities spanned investment management, business development and client relations, with a focus on high-net-worth individuals, families, plan sponsors and charitable foundations. Prior to GVT, Mike served in various capacities at John Hancock, State Street Bank, Channel Capital Group and eVestment, in Boston and New York City. Throughout his career, he has operated within entrepreneurial high tech environments leading efforts in portfolio construction, manager due diligence, investment research, product development, client service, operations, and business strategy. Each point along his career path has been driven by a mindset of “relentless forward progress”, which he deeply believes leads individuals, teams, and companies to actively innovate and evolve. This approach serves HPA well, as it positions itself to be ahead of the curve and reduce legacy issues that disadvantage so many other wealth management firms and more importantly, their clients!

Mike earned his B.A. in Economics from Hobart College and M.B.A. with a focus in Finance from the Simon School of Business at the University of Rochester. He holds the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst designation (CAIA) and is a member of the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst Association.

Mike is actively involved with multiple not-for-profit organizations. He is a Trustee, Executive Committee member and Chair of the Investment Committee at The Strong National Museum of Play. At Rochester Regional Health (RRH), he sits on the Heath Care Services Board of Directors and is a member of the Investment Committee, responsible for defined benefit, defined contribution, and other investment portfolios across the System. Previously, he served on the Board and the Investment Committee for Children Awaiting Parents (CAP).
